Larson goes for 41 points in NWAACC [Basketball]

Peninsula College sophomore Taylor Larson of Juneau pumped in season-high 41 points in a recent NWAACC game, and she did it without even attempting a 3-pointer.

The 5-foot-10 center sank 18 of 21 field goals and all five free throws in the 87-73 win over Everett, clinching a playoff berth for Peninsula College.

Larson also grabbed 12 rebounds for her first double-double in 22 games.

She leads the league in shooting percentage [.640] and is sixth in scoring [19.1]. Her top games have been 41, 34 and 29 points.

Peninsula College is loaded with Alaska players, including Juneau’s Karli Brakes, who leads the NWAACC in assists.

Brakes has averaged 6.4 assists in 22 games, highlighted by games of 15, 13, 11 and 10.

Other Peninsula College players out of the 907 include Pherrari Brumbaugh of Wasilla, Brandi Hale of Hooper Bay, Olivia Henderson of Juneau, Jesse Ellis of Skagway and Jasmine Yarde of Fairbanks.
