Rhea has green light in Poland [Basketball]
Given the green light, Talisa Rhea of Juneau didn’t hesitate.
The former Alaska player of the year fired 19 shots and made six of them, including four 3-pointers, on her way to a 16-point night for Gdynia of Poland’s first division.
Her team lost 69-64, falling into seventh place.
Rhea, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, also had six rebounds and four assists in 42 minutes before fouling out. She started at shooting guard.
In her first season as a pro, the 5-foot-10 Alaskan has averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 19 games. She is shooting 40 percent on 2s, 30 percent on 3s and 90 percent from the foul line.
