If there was ever a game Kevin Winford of Anchorage would brag about later in his life, it’d be tonight’s epic win over Northern Arizona.

Thanks to his late-game heroics, Eastern Washington rallied from an 18-point deficit with eight minutes left in the second half to produce an improbable 77-74 victory in overtime; on the road, no less.

Winford, of Bartlett High fame, finished with 12 points, five assists, four rebounds and a career-high four steals.

The senior guard scored five points inside the final two minutes of regulation on a 3-pointer and two free throws. With 15 seconds left, he assisted on the tying 3 that forced OT.

In the extra period, Winford collected two assists, a steal and a rebound.

It was his sixth double-figure scoring night in the last nine games. He had none in the first 13 games, including four games when he didn’t score at all.
