Anchorage’s Hans Roelle of Eastern Oregon University turned in his signature moment for the track team in Hayward, Calif.

The sophomore runner won the men’s 800-meter race at the Chabot Relays in 1:52.71 – the third-fastest outdoor time in NAIA this season and the fourth-fastest outdoor time in school history.

Roelle, of West High fame, made his move on the backstretch and took the lead for good on the final turn, holding off runners from College of Idaho and Saint Martin’s.
