Making her outdoor debut, the former Alaska state champion turned in the ninth-fastest time in school history after winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Chabot Relays over the weekend in Hayward, Calif.

Wilson, of Kenny Lake fame, finished the race in 12:12.3.

She also competed in the 1,500 [5:24] and 3,000 [11:40] runs.

Wilson made a splash last fall during the cross country season when she was the team’s fifth runner at the NAIA Championships.
