DeLoach-Soukup wins 4th national title [Track]
Soft-spoken away from the track, Janay DeLoach-Soukup of Fairbanks isn’t shy about talking about her accomplishments on it.
Her goal is to be the best in the world.
The 27-year-old inched closer today in Des Moines, Iowa, where she won the women’s long jump at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Olympic bronze medalist jumped 22-7¼ to beat the second-place woman by about four inches.
For DeLoach-Soukup, of Eielson High fame, it was her fourth national championship, but her first outdoor title.
With her result, DeLoach-Soukup punched her ticket to the World Championships in Moscow in August.
