Allison named top scout for Mariners [Baseball]

In some ways, the Seattle Mariners are Alaska’s team. Maybe it’s because every game is on the radio or TV.

If you weren’t a fan before, you might now that they have an Alaskan on their team.

Tom Allison of Talkeetna was named director of professional scouting.

Allison, 45, comes to the Mariners with more than 18 years of experience, most recently serving as the Midwest regional crosschecker in the amateur scouting department of the Boston Red Sox from 2011 to 2012.

Before that he spent four years [2007 to 2010] with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the team’s director of scouting.

Allison, of Su Valley High fame, moved to Talkeetna as a freshman in high school. He played college baseball at Loyola Marymount and participated
