Lujan throws, runs for TD in win [Football]

Chabot College quarter Zach Lujan of Anchorage accounted for two touchdowns and orchestrated a drive for the game-winning field goal in a 20-17 triumph over Diablo Valley in California Community College Athletic Association action.

The freshman signal caller completed a season best 13-of-20 passes for 221 yards. He connected with Martin Stefon on an 80-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

He rushed the ball 12 times for 22 yards, including a 13-yard score in the first quarter.

In the third quarter, Lujan accounted for 41 of 50 yards on a drive that led to a 48-yard field goal that proved to be the difference.

Lujan, of South High fame, has thrown for 665 yards and five TDs in four games this season. Chabot College is 2-2.
