Bookert considered for Cousy Award [Basketball]
October 22, 2013
Last season, Devon Bookert of Anchorage led the NCAA in 3-point shooting.
What will he do for an encore? Maybe the Cousy Award is in his future.
The flashy Florida State University guard has been named to the preseason Bob Cousy Award watch list by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The award recognizes the top point guard in college.
Bookert, of West High fame, burst onto the ACC scene as a unknown rookie. By the end, though, everybody knew his name.
The 6-foot-3 playmaker led the nation with a .525 3-point shooting percentage. He averaged 6.5 points and 2.4 assists in 34 games.
He became the first player in FSU history to shoot higher than 50 percent from the 3-point line in a single season.
