Anchorage’s Aaron Fletcher of the nationally ranked BYU cross country team registered his third career top-15 finish at the Griak Invitational over the weekend at the University of Minnesota.

The sophomore finished 15th in a field of 246 runners with an 8K time of 24:46.

Fletcher, of South High fame, was the third runner for BYU, ranked No. 4 among NCAA D1 teams. BYU won the meet with 62 points to beat second-place Colorado State’s 74.

“I thought it was an excellent team effort,” BYU coach Ed Eyestone told the school’s website. “We got a big time performance from Aaron Fletcher.”

This is Fletcher’s first season running collegiately since 2010, missing most of the time due to his mission in Warsaw, Poland.
