After having a career year last season, Allie Grazulis of Palmer expects to do it again.

The coaches in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference feel the same way.

The 5-foot-11 forward at Colorado School of Mines was named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team in a vote by league head coaches.

“I take it as respect and use it as motivation and determination to have a great senior year,” she told me.

Grazulis, of Colony High fame, was the only player in the RMAC last season to average a double-double on the year, ranking first in rebounds [10.3] and 27th in scoring [10.5].

She had 17 double-doubles in 29 games, highlighted by a 22-point, 20-rebound game against UAF.

Her 298 rebounds on the season were the third most in school history and the most since 1981.

“Of course it was be awesome to have a year like last year, so I’m going to keep working hard every day as a goal to keep up the rebounding,” Grazulis said.
