November 25, 2013
Florida State’s Devon Bookert of Anchorage made a 10-foot fadeaway jump shot to beat the buzzer and Northeastern in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
The sophomore point guard grabbed the rebound off a missed layup and made the basket with 0.5 seconds left to provide a 62-60 in the tournament’s third-place game.
“I was just there and able to make a play,” he told the FSU website. “God blessed me with that opportunity and it went in.”
Bookert, of West High fame, finished with seven points and four rebounds.
It was his second big game in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off after matching his career high with 18 points in the first round to highlight an 85-67 upset over No. 10 VCU.
