Chabot College will go as far in playoffs as Lujan will take it
Freshman quarterback Zach Lujan of Anchorage has put Chabot College in the California JC playoff picture after leading the team to a 5-1 record over the last six weeks.
He turned in another terrific performance in a 49-14 victory over West Hills Coalinga, completing 17-of-25 passes and throwing three touchdowns.
Lujan, of South High fame, leads the Golden Gate Conference with a 58.3 completion percentage and 11 touchdowns on the season. He is second with 1,508 yards.
He has thrown the fewest interceptions [3] among starters in the Golden Gate. It’s a big reason Chabot College is 3-0 in league, 6-3 overall.
Lujan has been nearly perfect in victories, throwing nine touchdowns at a 66 percent completion clip with zero interceptions.
Chabot can clinch first place in the Golden Gate with a victory over last-place Reedly this weekend in the CCCAA regular-season finale.
