Friedli sparkles, sweeps events in college debut

Last year’s Cook Inlet Conference Diver of the Year Katilin Friedli of Eagle River didn’t waste any time establishing herself as the No. 1 diver at Colgate University.
The freshman in her collegiate debut swept both springboard events aginast Lehigh in Patriot League action in Bethlehem, Pa.
Friedli, of Chugiak High fame, accounted for 18 of her team’s 97 points.
She won the 1-meter dive with a score of 195.35 and then prevailed in the 3-meter at 196.85.
Friedli won the state championship a year ago this weekend and is one of the few college divers from Alaska.
