Jalil Abdul-Bassit of Anchorage promised instant offense coming off the bench for the University of Oregon.
He was the master of production in a 91-63 victory over UC Irvine, scoring a career-high eight points in just eight minutes of action.
The 6-foot-4 junior guard sank 3-of-4 shots, including both 3-point attempts. He also grabbed his first career steal.
Abdul-Bassit came into the game with a total of nine points in his first six games. He has made 5-of-9 3s and is shooting 6-for-13 overall.
He is averaging 2.4 points for Oregon, which is 10-0 and the country’s 13th-ranked team.
