Bookert hands off career-high nine assists for Florida State
December 30, 2013
Devon Bookert of Anchorage continues to make things happen at Florida State University.
The sophomore point guard handed off a career-high nine assists and a team-best seven rebounds in a 67-59 win over Charleston Southern in Tallahassee, Fla.
Bookert, of West High fame, added two steals to help offset a 1-for-6 shooting night that resulted in just four points, half of his season average.
He helped supply the knockout punch with a hockey assist late in the game, throwing a crosscourt pass against the press to a teammate who then fed FSU’s 7-foot-3 center for a dunk that pushed the lead to seven with 2:30 to play.
Bookert’s nine assists were one better than the eight he had two weeks ago against Charlotte.
