Alaskans square off in NBA D-League, both notch double digits
The 6-foot-9 rookie forward from Hydaburg fueled a third-quarter rally and then made the go-ahead basket in the fourth to help Maine beat Fort Wayne and Ramon Harris of Anchorage 115-104 in NBA D-League action tonight.
Bell-Holter finished with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He came off the bench to play 27 minutes and grab eight rebounds.
Both Alaskans entered the game averaging 7.8 points this season.
Late in the second quarter, Harris drained back-to-back 3s to give Fort Wayne a 60-45 lead. But it didn’t last.
Bell-Holter led the comeback charge, scoring seven straight points for his team during one stretch to eventually cut the deficit to 68-63.
His 3-pointer midway through the fourth quarter provided Maine with its first lead, 91-88.
On the game’s final play, Harris missed a jumper and Bell-Holter grabbed the rebound.
