February 22, 2014
With his team’s playoff hopes on the line, Adam Klie of Anchorage had the best game of his freshman season at UC San Diego.
He scored a season-high 24 points to go with five rebounds and two steals in a 76-51 victory over San Francisco State in California Collegiate Athletic Association action.
The teams are tied for the sixth and final playoff berth with two games left in the regular season.
Klie, of Service High fame, has been consistent all season with 13 of 24 games in double figures. But last night he finally broke out.
The 6-foot-4 guard drained 4-of-6 3-pointers to help UCSD make 17-of-33 attempts, the most for the school since 2007.
Klie ranks third on the team in scoring at 9.9 points per game on 47 percent shooting.
