Oleson turns back the clock with Barcelona, hits five 3s

February 3, 2014

Brad Oleson BasketballBrad Oleson was like a DJ playing all his greatest hits.

Looking a lot like he did two years ago when he finished second in the Spanish League in 3-point percentage, the North Pole native drained five 3s and scored a season-high 18 points for Barcelona in a 95-93 loss to Valencia.

The 6-foot-3 guard was 5-for-5 on 3s to help him finish with his second-highest point total in 41 career games with Barcelona. Last season he scored 26 points.

Oleson, of UAF fame, came in averaging just 3.9 points in eight Spanish League games. The veteran is used more on the perimeter and playing just 17 minutes a night.

When needed, though, he can still put on a show.

Oleson has made more of an impact with Barcelona in the Euroleague, where he has averaged 9.7 points in seven games.
