Perkins leads Turkish pro team to sixth straight win

Doron Perkins BasketballBesiktas is the hottest team in the Turkish League with six straight wins, and Anchorage’s Doron Perkins has his fingerprints all over the latest victory.

The 6-foot-3 guard showcased his all-around skills and posted a season-high player ranking of 28 in an 87-77 triumph over Mersin in the city of Akdeniz.

Perkins almost bagged a triple-double with nine points, 13 rebounds and nine assists. His rebounds and assists were season highs.

Besiktas is 14-10 and tied for sixth in the league.

Perkins, of Bartlett High fame, is averaging 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 16 games. His team is 10-6 with he plays.

He has scored 17 points or more five times, with a season high of 25. He is shooting .532 from the field.
