Two-way Tufi single-handedly leads Louisiana Tech softball
She threw a shutout, homered and drove in six runs. She also sold popcorn between innings.
In an awesome display of individual talent, Anchorage’s Pauline Tufi did everything for Louisiana Tech in a 7-0 victory over Southern Miss in NCAA D1 softball action.
The fab freshman went 3-for-3 with 6 RBIs at the plate and threw a four-hit shutout in the circle to help the Bulldogs win the Conference USA game in Louisiana.
Tufi, of West High fame, belted a three-run home run in the first inning and then ripped a three-run double in the second inning.
Then she went to work as a pitcher, throwing her second shutout of the season.
Tufi is 12-8 with a 2.93 ERA in 38 appearances this season. She has started 12 times and went the distance eight times.
The former three-time Alaska player of the year is hitting .293 in 44 games with four home runs and 30 RBIs. She also has nine doubles and a triple.
Tufi’s six RBIs were the third-most in a single game in Louisiana Tech history.
