Wilson signs with Kitsap Pumas of USL Premier League

Jared Wilson SoccerSoccer player Jared Wilson of Anchorage isn’t used to the pro game, but he is familiar with his new coach.

The 6-foot-2

goalkeeper will again play for his former college coach for the Kitsap Pumas of the USL Premier Development League called PDL-Pro.

Wilson signed a rookie contract with the Pumas to play for Andrew Chapman, who coached him at Peninsula College in Washington. Together, they helped Peninsula win the 2010 NWAACC title.

“Jared is a true shot stopper,” Chapman told the Kitsap team website. “He is one of the hardest working guys I have ever known and when it comes to making the save he is ruthless.”

Wilson, of East High fame, also played for NCAA D2 Adams State, where he earned third team All-RMAC honors in 2013.

The PDL is considered the fourth tier of pro soccer in this country.
