Just a freshman, Karnos emerges as Western Nevada workhorse
There were bumps and bruises, but in the end Max Karnos came out looking pretty at Western Nevada College.
The freshman pitcher from Anchorage won his fifth game in his 12th start and now leads the JC power with 69.1 innings after beating Southern Idaho in the regular-season finale.
Karnos, of South High fame, threw 5.2 innings today in a 5-2 victory as Western Nevada improved to 36-16, 21-11 in the SWAC. He allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five.
The 6-foot-4 right-hander is 5-2 with 3.76 ERA on the season. He leads the team with three complete games. He has struck out 51.
