Brad Oleson’s quest for a Euroleague championship was dashed in today’s semifinals, with Barcelona losing 100-62 to Spanish rival Real Madrid.

The North Pole native scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting. He also collected three assists, grabbed two rebounds and blocked a shot.

The 6-foot-3 starting guard played 29 minutes.

Oleson, of UAF fame, was looking to become the third Alaskan to win a Euroleague title. In 2008, Trajan Langdon of Anchorage won with CSKA Moscow. In 2013, Doron Perkins of Anchorage won with Greek power Olympiacos.

Oleson has averaged 9 points on 47 percent shooting in 19 Euroleague games.

Real Madrid will face Israeli power Maccabi Tel Aviv in Sunday’s Euroleague championship game.

Barcelona will face CSKA for third place the same day.
