Brad Oleson BasketballBy this time, Spanish League basketball fans probably consider Brad Oleson of North Pole to be one of their own.

The 31-year-old guard has thrived during his nine seasons of professional basketball in that country, especially since joining the ACB, the top league in Spain.

This year is no different as Oleson and Barcelona have reached the Spanish League Finals after surviving a 77-75 win over Valencia in Game 5 of their semifinal playoff series.

Barcelona will face Real Madrid for the third consecutive year.

Oleson, of UAF fame, has now reached the Spanish League Finals four times in his career. He did it with Caja Laboral in 2009 and 2010, winning the title in 2010.

This is the second straight year he’s done it with Barcelona.

The 6-foot-3 guard is an on-again, off-again starter who is usually on the court when the game is on the line.

He is averaging 7.2 points and 18.8 minutes in 30 games this season.

He is approaching the 4,000-point plateau as a professional.
