September 30, 2014
The defending RMAC tournament champion Colorado Mesa University men’s soccer team needed a boost.
The Mavericks were stuck in a 1-1 tie with one-win Adams State University with only 15 minutes before the final whistle before Oliver Querin of Palmer came to the rescue.
The senior defender set up the winning goal in the 75th minute, feeding a pass off the head of teammate Stevie Palma to produce a 2-1 victory in Colorado.
Querin, of Colony High fame, was an All-RMAC Third Team selection last season when he delivered three goals and an assist in 21 games.
This is his third season after redshirting in 2011. He has three goals and three assists in 39 career games.
