Ellis drops career-high 16 points in season opener

Jesse Ellis BasketballJesse Ellis of Skagway didn’t miss a shot as Central Methodist University opened the season with a big win over Stepehens in Missouri.

The senior guard made all six field goals and all four free throws en route to a career-high 16-point performance in a 100-43 victory on the road.

She also grabbed six rebounds and had two assists in 20 minutes.

Ellis is in her second season with the NAIA school. Last season she averaged 5.9 points in 31 games.

It was her seventh career double-figure scoring night.
