Klie gets hot in second half, lifts UCSD to road win

Adam Klie BasketballUniversity of California San Diego guard Adam Klie of Anchorage got hot when his team needed it most to beat Fort Lewis 83-71 in Colorado.

The 6-foot-5 starting guard scored 10 of his 14 points in the second half and ignited a late-game surge when the Tritons took control.

Klie, of Service High fame, played 30 minutes and contributed 14 points, a career-high 6 assists and 5 rebounds. He didn’t make a turnover.

The score was tied at 59 with 7:30 to play. Then the sophomore from Alaska had a hand in seven points [5 points, 1 assist] during a 14-2 run to make it 73-61 with 4:59 left.

He took a game-high 11 shots, making six, including a pair of 3s.

Klie is averaging 7.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in four games. His team is 3-1.
