Abdul-Bassit takes over in OT, nets career-high 20
And nobody makes more for the Ducks than Anchorage’s Jalil Abdul-Bassit.
The senior bomber sank four more 3-pointers en route to scoring a career-high 20 points in Oregon’s 82-78 victory over UC Santa Barbara.
Twice, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard took over the game with his deadly jump shot.
First he did it in the second half when he scored eight straight points to key a 10-0 run.
Then he did it again in overtime when he scored Oregon’s final seven points, sealing the game with a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left.
Abdul-Bassit, of West High fame, finished 7-for-11 from the field.
His previous his was 19. Before that it was 17. It’s all happened this season, his final in a college uniform.
Abdul-Bassit is now 22-for-48 from long range this season, a lofty .458 percentage that ranks seventh in the Pac-12. He ranks third with 22 3s made.
