Jelinek named first team all-conference for Carnegie Mellon

Keely Jelinek SoccerAfter starting all 19 games and helping the Carnegie Mellon University women’s soccer team reach the NCAA D3 playoffs, freshman Keeley Jelinek of Anchorage was rewarded with a spot on the all-conference first team.

The center back was a defensive dynamo for the Tartans, who ranked tenth in the nation in goals against average [.371].

Jelink, of South High fame, scored her first college goal to provide a 2-1 victory over the University of Chicago. She was named ECAC Rookie of the Week once.
