Nani Ostrom basketballNani Ostrom of Juneau has enjoyed a serious role reversal with the Pacific University women’s basketball team.

She’s gone from role player to one of the go-to players for the NCAA D3 school in Oregon.

Ostrom is on pace to shatter her personal scoring record and has already established two new season-high point totals.

The 5-foot-7 guard pumped in 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting in a 75-58 loss to Evergreen State. She had 17 earlier this year.

Her previous career high was 12; set as a freshman.

She is shooting 49 percent from the field and is averaging a career-best 10.5 points in six games. Her previous scoring averages were 3.5, 2.8 and 4.4.
