When it comes to blocking shots, nobody is better in the Northwest Athletic Conference than Aminata Cole of Anchorage.

The 5-foot-11 sophomore center has led the JC league in each of the last two seasons for Southwestern Oregon Community College.

Her season high is 5 blocked shots. She’s had three other games with 4.

Cole leads the league with 2.21 blocks this season after swatting 2.64 shots last season.

She is coming off a 28-points, 14-rebound performance in an 89-82 loss to Umpqua and ranks in the top 5 in the NWAC in three different categories.

Cole, of Dimond High fame, is fourth in scoring [17.6], third in rebounding [9.2] and first in blocks.
