Make it a dozen double-doubles in Rima’s college career
Foul trouble in overtime didn’t slow down Northwest Nazarene University big man Kevin Rima of Fairbanks.
The 6-foot-7 senior center played overtime with four fouls but still managed to score four of his team’s nine points, leading the Crusaders to a 72-68 win over Saint Martin’s in NCAA D2 play in Washington.
Rima, of Hutchison High fame, finished the game with 16 point and 11 rebounds. It was the 12th double-double of his career.
He made 5-of-7 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws. He added 2 assists, 2 steals and a blocked shot.
Rima is approaching some severe milestones with 882 career points and 527 career rebounds.
This season in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Rima ranks third in rebounding [7.2], 10th in FG% [.548], 11th in blocks [0.7] and 23rd in scoring [10.7].
