Wojciechowski raves about Wilson’s durability, win-ability

Derrick Wilson of Anchorage played in his 100th consecutive game for the Marquette University men’s basketball last night.
His performance was typical, too.
The starting senior guard collected 6 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and a blocked shot in 32 minutes in a 53-52 win over Creighton in Big East play.
Wilson, of East High fame, also made several defensive plays that don’t show up. But his coach, former Duke point guard Steve Wojciechowski loves having the Alaskan as his floor general.
“I think Derrick is a winner,” he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He’s a guy who is all about Marquette winning. He’s been a very good senior leader for us. He’s a kid with a great deal of character. He’s a guy that any coach would want on their team.”
