February 14, 2015
Anchorage’s Jalil Abdul-Bassit used a smoking hot first-half shooting effort to carry him to a career-high 24 points for the University of Oregon.
The 6-foot-4 guard started the game and wasted no time finding his rhythm, sinking six 3-pointers in the first half.
He finished with seven 3s as UCLA locked him down in the second half during a 72-63 Bruins win in California.
Abdul-Bassit, of West High fame, also blocked two shots for the third time in 25 games this season. He now has 10 blocks after having none all of last year.
The senior sharpshooter leads Oregon and ranks fifth in the Pac-12 with a .432 3-point shooting percentage.
