February 13, 2015

colter_lasher_basketballAnchorage’s Colter Lasher recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for Houston Baptist in an effort every bit as good as the numbers.

The 6-foot-7 forward was especially productive in the later stages of the game when his team needed a lift during a 77-66 victory over A&M Corpus Christi during NCAA D1 men’s basketball action in Texas.

First he made a 3-pointer and layup as part of a 10-2 run that helped provide a 49-48 lead with 10:25 to play.

A few minutes later he converted back-to-back layups for a 59-56 lead. Then he sank two free throws with 5:19 left to make it 61-58.

Lasher, of Dimond High fame, is enjoying a sensational sophomore season with the Southland Conference squad.

He is averaging 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists in 21 games. He’s also got a 25-point game to his credit.
