The greatest softball player in Alaska history played her own version of home run derby recently for Louisiana Tech.

Sophomore slugger Pauline Tufi of Anchorage crushed a pair of home runs in a 10-6 win in Game 2 of a doubleheader against Lamar. She finished 3-for-3 and showed incredible power to all fields.

In the first inning she hit a line-drive, solo home run to right field. In the fifth, she launched a two-run bomb that traveled approximately 275 feet to left field.

This 5-foot-10 infielder has three homers in 14 games. Last year she hit four in 52 games and drove in 34 RBIs to break a 25-year-old freshman school record.

Tufi, of West High fame, is durable, having started all 66 games of her NCAA D1 college career, and versatile. She also pitches and has racked up a 14-11 career record in the circle.
