kelsey_griffin_basketball_action4Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin will shoot for 3 Sunday.

Already a two-time WNBL champion, the third-year Bendigo Spirit forward will go for the three-peat Sunday against the Townsville Fire in a rematch of the 2014 and 2013 title games.

Bendigo reached the Australia’s Grand Final after beating the Sydney Uni Flames 85-77 today and now aim to become the first team in 20 years to win three consecutive WNBL crowns.

Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and handed off a season-high 6 assists.

The 6-foot-2 Alaskan has reached double figures in every game but one since Thanksgiving. She leads her team in scoring [16.3] and rebounding [9.0].

Griffin is also a two-time Grand Final MVP.
