Ridley, Caron hitting well for hard-hitting Dawson
April 6, 2015
The Dawson Community College baseball team has won just 7 of 20 games but it’s not because of the offense. The team has a .310 batting average and two of the top hitters are from Alaska.
Anchorage’s Jake Ridley leads the team with a .420 average and Anchorage’s Ryan Caron is third at .359.
Ridley, a shortstop, is the only player on the team to hit a single, double, triple and home run. Ten of his 29 hits have gone for extra bases and his .668 slugging percentage leads the team.
Caron, an outfielder, leads the team with a .479 on-base percentage thanks to nine walks.
Both players are out of Service High.
