Leigh has block party, ranks 2nd on Quinnipiac career list

Allison Leigh VolleyballPalmer’s Allison Leigh had a season-best 10 blocks to go along with eight kills as Quinnipiac University beat Holy Cross in five sets.

It was the first win in three matches this year for the Bobcats, a NCAA D1 team in Hamden, Conn.

Leigh, of Colony High fame, had five solo blocks in the match and was selected to the Hampton Inn-vitatonal all-tournament team.

The middle hitter now has 23 total blocks in three matches and 286 for her career, which ranks second in school history.

The 6-foot-3 junior is also killing the ball.

She has racked up 28 kills compared to just five attack errors for a sparkling .348 hitting percentage.

Leigh is a career .237 hitter.
