He saw the field on special teams for the University of Idaho football team in last week’s season opener.

This week, though, Edward Hall of Chugiak recorded his first career tackle and played a little bit on defense.

The freshman linebacker had two tackles for the Vandals in a 59-9 loss to No. 8 Southern Cal in Los Angeles, California.

Hall, of Eagle River High fame, made a tackle on punt coverage in the fourth quarter.

Then he made another tackle at linebacker on the final series of the game.

Hall is the only player from Alaska on the Idaho team, although the Vandals have featured other Alaskans such as Mao Tosi and Daniel Hardy, both of Anchorage.

Hall wears jersey No. 50; what 49 was taken? Actually, yes.
