Ostrander delivers debut victory for Boise State cross country
Kenai’s Allie Ostrander today started her college career in style, winning her first cross-country running race for Boise State University.
The 18-year-old freshman posted a women’s victory in the 6-k race at Golden Gate Park in a dual meet against the University of San Francisco.
Her time of 20 minutes, 44.4 seconds was 14 seconds faster than the second-place runner.
Ostrander, of Kenai High fame, comes into this NCAA cross country season as one of the most promising freshmen in the country.
She won the Nike national championships last fall and was a three-time Alaska state champion in high school.
