Hickel, Smelker both score as Pride win again in NWHL

Anchorage’s Zoe Hickel and Jordan Smelker each found the back of the net for the Boston Pride in a 7-1 win over the New York Riverters in the National Women’s Hockey League.

Hickel, of South High fame, scored two goals and added an assist to earn the first star of the game.

She scored her first goal with 55 seconds left in the first period to make it 2-0.

Hickel was credited with the game-winning goal. She is now tied for second on the team with three points.

Smelker, of Service High fame, scored her second goal in as many pro games.

Even better, she scored on her only shot of the game.

Boston is 2-0 in the newly formed NWHL.
