Perkins grabs 11 rebounds, beats former team in Turkey
A veteran of 11 seasons, Perkins has been all over the world. He’s played in Turkey a couple different times and returned there this season with Yesilgiresun Belediye.
He faced off against his former team, Besiktas, and broke ’em off a little something.
The 6-foot-3 starting guard grabbed 11 rebounds to go with six points, two assists and a blocked shot to spark a 65-56 win in Turkey’s first division.
Here’s a look at how other Alaskans did in pro hoops overseas:
In Australia, Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin just missed a double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds for Bendigo in a 70-39 beatdown of Perth. She sank 10-of-16 field goals inside the arc. She missed 4 3s.
In Finland, Hydaburg’s Damen Holter-Bell bagged 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists as Lapua ran away from KTP Basket 111-95. He was 7-of-13 from the floor and 4-0f-7 from the line.
In Spain, North Pole’s Brad Oleson came off the bench to score 6 points in just 9 minutes as Barcelona won a laugher over Sevilla 120-38. He made the only 3 attempted.
