Shamburg recognized for defensive prowess at Phoenix College

Trask Shamburg of Anchorage didn’t score a goal or have a single assist, but soccer isn’t just about offense.

His sacrifice on defense helped Phoenix College post seven shutouts in 19 games, something that didn’t go unnoticed.

The freshman defender has been named to the All-Region I/All-ACCAC Honorable Mention list.

Shamburg, of Dimond High fame, embraced coach David Cameron’s call for defensive intensity helped Phoenix College had the fourth-best goals against average in the league.
