Stoner is crushing volleyball better than ever for Adelphi

Shelby Stoner VolleyballShelby Stoner of Anchorage highlighted a five-set victory for the Adelphi University volleyball team over the College of Saint Rose.

She was at her best in the fourth set when she showed off her all-around skills in a short span, having a hand in three of four points on a block, kill and assist.

She also slammed home the clinching point in a 25-14 win in the set to extend the match to a deciding fifth set.

Stoner, of South High fame, collected nine kills, three assists and a solo block in the match.

The 6-foot-1 middle blocker is crushing the ball better than ever this season with a .319 attack percentage in 14 matches. She came into this year a .225 hitter.

Stoner has amassed 452 kills and 160 blocks in her career.
