Beveridge scores game winner in double overtime for Gordon

Josh BeveridgeFreshman midfielder Josh Beveridge of Anchorage lifted Gordon College into the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s soccer tournament.

He scored the winning goal in double overtime to punctuate a 2-1 victory over Roger Williams during NCAA D3 action in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Beveridge, of Grace Christian High fame, buried a beautiful crossing pass from Caleb Cole in the 104th minute.

The goal allowed him to save some face after missing a sliding shot over the crossbar just minutes earlier.

It was his second goal of the season.

Gordon sent the game into overtime after scoring the tying goal with just 25 seconds left in regulation.

The Scots [13-4] will play No. 2 seed Western New England on Tuesday.
