The Mountain West Conference has named Anchorage’s Sam Wicks the Swimmer of the Week for the second time in her career.

The Boise State senior was coming off a record-setting weekend at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas, where she posted conference-best times in three individual races and three relays, and set a Boise State record in the 200 backstroke.

Wicks, of East High fame, recorded four NCAA B cuts at the event, with three coming in the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM, and the fourth as part of the 400 free relay which finished fourth and posted the eighth-fastest time in the NCAA this season at 3:17.41.

In the 200 back, Wicks set a school record with a time of 1:54.24, surpassing the old mark by 1.96 seconds. Her time was also the second-fastest in Mountain West history, just 0.11 of a second behind the record.
