Colang is leaving permanent mark with Vermont hockey
Dayna Colang of Fairbanks is such a gifted scorer that the University of Vermont women’s hockey team moved her from the blue line to the front line.
She made the switch last season from defenseman to forward and her scoring production has only gotten better.
The 5-foot-7 senior leads the Catamounts with 7-6–13 totals in 19 games
Colang owns five school records and is one of only two players in Vermont history to have at least two career hat tricks.
As a sophomore, she set school marks for Vermont defensemen with 12 goals and 27 points.
Her junior year she set a school record with eight power-play goals and tied another with four points in one.
This year she became the record holder with 17 career power-play goals.
For her career, Colang ranks third on Vermont’s all-time list in assists [43], fourth in points [81] and fifth in goals [38].
