He is virtually shooting the ball the same with his new team, Laramie County Community College, as he did with his old team, New York Institute of Technology.

The biggest difference is now he’s starting.

The increased minutes have resulted in increased production as Sherman-Newsome has basically tripled his scoring average from a year ago.

The 6-foot-4 guard is averaging 10.4 points in 10 games with Laramie County. He is has made 30-of-75 3s for a 40-percent clip.

He has hit at least one 3 in all 10 games and two or more eight times.

Sherman-Newsome, of Bartlett High fame, has scored double figures seven times, highlighted by a 16-point performance against Western Nebraska.

His season high at New York Tech was 12 points. He averaged 3.6 points in 28 games on the strength of making 29-of-77 3s for a 38-percent clip.
